AFL has expanded its range of ENVirol filter cartridges designed for the removal of free, dispersed and emulsified oil from water. The original ENVirol product is now joined by two new versions, ENVirol Plus and ENVirol Block. In ENVirol Original an instant and irreversible bond is formed with the ENVirol media as hyrdocarbons pass through it. The ENVirol cartridge will adsorb up to 300% of its own weight and remove 99% of all oils present in a single pass at very high flow rates. ENVirol Plus technology shows a reliable and steady increase in differential pressure. Flow rate reduces as the cartridge reaches saturation, giving a safe and simple change-out signal.
In the ENVirol Block cartridge polymer media technology instantly forms a barrier when in contact with hydrocarbons, providing protection in downstream processes or discharges. ENVirol Block can be used as a final stage of oil removal where oil-in-water monitors are not present.
Applications for the cartridges include completion fluids, produced water, oily wastewater, mud pit cleaning, pipeline purge, process water, run-off water and ballast and bilge water.
All three ENVirol products are manufactured in-house by AFL in the United Kingdom. The company recently celebrated its tenth anniversary.
