LANXESS updated its LewaPlus design software for the water industry. The update includes modifications in the dimensioning of reverse osmosis (RO) and ion exchange systems (IX), as well as an option to include ultrafiltration (UF). Ultrafiltration is used as a pretreatment for reverse osmosis and for ion exchange resin applications. It purifies and disinfects water in a single step, and acts as an alternative to conventional filtration in water purification, producing filtrate with consistent water quality.
LewaPlus offers the option to users to create their own water library, allowing the use of data stored in the software. This could lead to a complete water analysis.
